I did a volrestore of project.bitnet.backup from the May 25 sipb-cell
backup tape. This backup was our first use of one of the new-style
Sony P6-120MP tapes. I didn't need that day's version for anything; I
just wanted to find out if our tapes were usable.
Anyway, the restore succeeded without errors. Contents of the new
volume looked reasonable, compared to the existing volume, although I
didn't scrupulously check every file that hadn't been modified since
May.
Incidentally, the project.bitnet.backup volume was the last volume
listed in /afs/sipb/project/newdump/last/backup.920525.Z. Total
elasped time for the volrestore was about an hour.
(I've since removed the extra volume.)
