I don't believe you have to be on net18 for the isntall to work,
although you do have to be on MITNet for the 'extras' such as AFS
to install.
With respect to your kernel, is there a reason why you can't
configure your card to be on any of:
ed0 at isa? port 0x280 iomem 0xd0000 irq 9 # WD/SMC, 3C503, and NE[12]000
ed1 at isa? port 0x250 iomem 0xd8000 irq 9 # ethernet cards
ed2 at isa? port 0x300 iomem 0xcc000 irq 10
ed3 at isa? port 0x300 iomem 0xcc000 irq 9
ed4 at isa? port 0x300 iomem 0xcc000 irq 11
This would make it much easier for you to upgrade to new releases,
and is probably simpler than for us to go and create a special kernel for
you.
