The installation disk is supposed to create a temporary filesystem in
/tmp before that point. Another user has reported a similar problem,
but we weren't able to figure out why and the problem went away when
he changed the way he did something else (which was theretically
unrelated).
Please try te installation again (make sure you have n up-to-date
disk) and look for a mount_mfs error after you enter your network
parameters.
Also, we'll be updating the installation kernels and disks probably
before the end of tomorrow, which might (or might not) eliminate any
flakiness in the creation of the temporary filesystem.
