Hello Everybody.

For connecting any device to the SCSI-bus, you have to use sth. like
a T, like the BNC-Ts for ethernet. Usually, it's very well hidden
in the drive (sth. like 2 - 3 cm between the connector edge and the buffers
on the device), but some days ago, I bought a mounting frame for SCSI-Disks.
It has ONE SCSI-Connector in the back, and, inside the removable part,
sth. like 4 cm of flat ribbon cable. I'm supposed to connect the disk to
flat cable, and there are no active parts on the small interface between
the mounting frame and the removeable part.

So, my actual setup looks now like this (* = terminator):

    Controller *---+
                   !
                   !==Removable drive
                   !
       Last *----+
      Drive

The == is the part I'm wondering about: Is there a maximum length
between the SCSI-flat-cable and the buffers on the device, above which
the bus is not working anymore? Any Ideas.

have a nice day,

thomas (tom@dbstw.escape.de)
