Those earlier drivers were written with virtually no support from Adaptec,
so although they were functional, it does not surprise me that unusual
configurations (including dual controllers) might cause them problems. I
would highly recommend upgrading to a newer version of the kernel. There
is a brand new release of the aic7xxx driver out in general release, but
it is meant to go into a 2.0.35 kernel. THe easiest way to get there is to
upgrade to RedHat 5.1, then install the newest kernel, with the 5.1.0
aic7xxx driver in it. This should be available from RedHat, as the author
of the driver now works for them. It was also available at ftp.dialnet.org
recently as that was where he lived when he was developing it.

These later versions of the driver are being written with real support
from Adaptec, since they have finally recognized linux as a real OS and
potential market for SCSI cards.

Hmmmm UNIX and SCSI. Makes sense to me.
