I have been using Fujitsu 3.5" MO disks since long before I started with
Linux, and have never seen a problem. Linux has always treated them the
same as any other disk - totally transparent to me. Of course you have
mount the drive and then umount it before you can remove the medium, but
that is implied. I started with an M2512a (230 MB with 512 byte sectors)
and then added an M2513a (640 MB with 2048 byte sectors). I think that
if your drive has other than 512 byte sectors, you may need to move to the
beta kernel. Other than possibly the mount and format commands, this is
a kernel issue and so should work with any distribution. What I have is
basicly SlackWare 3.0 with selective upgrades of utilities. Kernels are
recent and I use the Beta because it dual boots with NT and I need to see
NTFS file systems. Oh I have had the drive(s) jumpered to look like both
fixed disks and removables, and Linux never seemed to notice the difference.
