Hi!
The Adaptec 2940-driver is based around the aic7xxx-chipset, and
works on most of the cards belonging to this family.
I have successfully initiated Adapetc 2940AU (aic7860,aic7880),
2940UW & 3940(UW), I donīt remember the chipsets on these boards,
sorry. :_) I know it wonīt work on the 2940U2W (aic7890) and some
versions of the 2940UA (various chipsets been reported to cause this
failure). You might try and get the latest BIOS-rev for You particular
2940-card; It might do the trick. ;-)
