Hello,

I have just subscribed to this list so I apologize if this is a
redundant question.

    (Is there an FAQ available?)

I cannot find much in the way of Linux driver support for the Adaptec
2940 controller, either from Adaptec or from RedHat. It seems that Adaptec
has stated a commitment to supporting Linux recently but has yet to provide
the actual drivers.

During initial installation my system hangs on the Autoprobe search of the
SCSI bus.

Bottom line: Is there a workaround available currently? There seems to be a
deluge of hardware support for Linux with the 2940 being the current
exception.

TIA

Regards,

Bruce
