I had the same exact problem with RH
5.0. 
But my solution might not be what you
are looking for. I went out, bought an
old IDE hard drive, installed it to
there. And then, had the recompile the
kernel( with lots of help form the HOW
TO'S) with scsi NOT as a module. It
would be interesting to find out the
real way to get it working. I believe it
involves passing parameters to it. But I
do not know what form they might be in.
RH told me I had to pass the sectors,
cylinders and that stuff manually. BUT,
the problem is, I have NO idea what they
might be. ( for the scsi drives) and I
just gave up and bought an IDE. Sorry if
this doesn't help.
