	I have a similar problem, 233MMX, 64M, AHA-1520B, Slackware 3.4 (kernel
patched to 2.0.34), Sony SDT-7000 (DDS2). I can only get DDS (density code
0x13) and I get random hangs when writing to the tape, machine locks
completely, never in the same point in a backup. I have not yet been able
to get through a complete backup. I'm about to try using kernel 2.1.106 to
see if there is a difference, and then maybe another OS. The only
component I'm not sure about is the cable, everything else has worked fine
with something else.
	Anybody have a clue?

		Thanks much,
