The SUSE linux kernel
<ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse_update/kernel/linux-2.0.33.tar.gz> claims
to support the AIC-7895 controller. This is the closest thing i
found. They did the controller for the SINIX machines which come with
Linux and NT preinstalled (funny thing is, Linux installed machines
are more expensive then NT installed, because "we have to pay licecne
fees for Linux which we don't have to pay for NT" as a sales
representative said at a fair in Vienna (IFABO '98)).
