Dan,
I'm backing up about 10GB per night and much more on weekends using
a DLT4000 and tar on a 53c8xx controller. The DLT has been the most
reliable tape drive I've ever used. I've gone through several 4mm and
8mm drives. I just get the feeling the DLT is designed for heavy use.
