Recommend a good, compatible CD-RW drive?

I need to buy a SCSI CD-RW drive to share between various (Intel-based)
Linux machines. I checked the CD-R HOWTO, but it doesn't seem to cover
CD-RW drives.
The various machines have all different kinds of SCSI controllers: NCR,
Adaptec 2940UW, Buslogic, etc. Is CD burning terribly dependent upon the
controller?
