There seem to be a lot of comments about combinations of SCSI cards,
settings, disks, kernel versions etc not working reliably. Apart from
the obvious "it doesn't work at all" situations, I'm concerned about
the situations where a system seems to work for a while but it corrupts
data after a while.
We've got a new important system going in soon... what I'd like is a
program (or set of programs) that thoroughly exercise the system
(especially in an SMP environment) to spot any problems under the
greatest load *before* letting users on to it. Obviously the type of
thing done for testing speed (copying some large files, running some
artificial benchmark tests) isn't enough, but I should start with them
(so any lists of disk benchamrk tests also appreciated).
