Well, I can tell you about the Buslogic cards. I have not used
the flashpoint units myself, but they are said to be very stable even if
they do offload onto the CPU. I have used the BT-948 and BT-958 many
times. It is well supported, under Linux and most other OS, high quality
and fast. I have never had a problem with a 948/958.
The DAC960SU I have never used but have heard good things about.
Pretty standard SCSI-SCSI external raid controller, i960 on board
controllable via keypad or serial console. The computer sees one large
drive. As with any SCSI device good cabling/termination is a must. With
external Ultra-Wide be even more careful, top quality cable and active
negation termination would be a requirment.
