This might seem like a dumb question, but why don't you just compile
support for the card into the kernel? Boot time detection works so much
better than trying to modprobe everything. Also, you could have lots of
problems if your card doesnt have a bios or the bios isn't enabled, in
which case you've got to specify all the stuff at boot time, which often
doesnt work.
