Also, remember that the kernel will do it's own caching, and is usually
smarter about it than controllers. Therefore you might be better off buying
more memory for the system than buying memory for the disk controller...
I'm using DPT hardware RAID controllers (3334UW's) with cache on them, but
I'm unable to determine whether the cache on the controller is really
helpful.
