It is just that the driver isn't reporting the correct value here.

If I have a few less emergencies at customer sites to deal with in the
next few days I'll publish an update on the linux-eata mailing list.
This week I got reafirmed once again in my conviction that using NT
an any mission critical environment is suicidal........

No. DPT has published newer firmware.
It is probably not a bad idea to update it.
