  Dear fellas,
I occasionally receive these attached error messages when I type a
command on the prompt screen. I have a quantum fireball st (Not the
same as the quantum tempest) ultra scsi hard drive connected to a
buslogic BT-948; I know some people with the fireball series of hard
drives have also had similar errors, but at the time they mentioned
them, I didn't have this hard drive. I remember also not too long ago,
someone posted a message about quantum having released firmware revision
for this hard drive, and also listed the url it could be found, but I
don't remember. Would that solve the error messages that I keep
getting, any one has an idea what can be done, and how? I would
appreciate your help. Thank you muno muno

  Robert Johannes

Those messages are consistent with a SCSI bus hang. The updated Fireball
Stratus firmware can be found via http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/. I have had
some reports that the fixed Stratus firmware is not sufficient to resolve all
the problems, particularly in systems with multiple Stratus drives, so you may
also need to limit the queue depth used with the drive by booting with the
kernel command line "BusLogic=0,7".
