Perhaps your CD drive is set to the same target as the controller.
Change the SCSI address jumpers of the _drive_.

The multiple IDs have nothing to do with BIOS addresses. In fact, you
don't need the BIOS anyway.

you will get this _if_ you change disks - the drive checks its door.

This happens if you copy a CD to a file (with dd) without knowing what
