Thanks for tip, now everything works great :-)) ... even at Ultra
speeds ie. 20MByte/s with aic7xxx=ultra
I'm not sure why it makes a difference (for some reason the SCAM
protocol wakes up the drive, or perhaps the adaptech does a different
type of bus initialization ?)
In response to Larry, I haven't had any problems whatsoever with
Quantum SCSI, my old VP32210 has been working happily under a
heavy load for the past year and a half. Hope the Fireball will
be just as reliable......
