Mea Culpa.  I don't use MODVERSIONS on my own kernel builds, so I always
seem to get this one wrong.  But, the file is created during kernel
compilation, so if it is missing, you didn't build the kernel with
MODVERSIONS, and so you shouldn't build the module that way, either.

I've fixed the instructions.
