Hi!
I have an Intel Pentium Pro 200Mhz processor, intel VS440FX motherboard,
Adaptec PCI Master SCSI (SCSI-2 AHA-2940) wich is connected to two disks
and one CD-ROM.
First disk, a Micropolis 4421AV with 2Gb, second, a Conner 1060s with
1012Mb. CD-ROM: Plextor 4x.
The video board is a Matrox Millenium 4MbWram PCI. I still have a ordinary
net card not connect to any computer, a Zoom ComStar v.34 voice/fax/modem,
a ISA radio (Reveal) and SoundBlaster 16 SCSI-2.
Ok, my SB SCSI-2 is on IRQ 11 I/O 340h. My Adaptec PCI SCSI-2 is on IRQ 9
and Net card on IRQ 10, I/0 300h.
I have nothing connected to the SB SCSI-2. SCSI-2 stuff is connect on
Adaptec PCI SCSI-2.
The instalation Kernel shows this:
"Linux 1.2.13 (Universe 1.1) #9 Fri Nov 3 20:30:00 MET 1995"
The installation shows up the following problems:
"Unknown PCI device. PCI Vendor id=8. PCI Device id=1237"
"Unknown PCI device. PCI Vendor id=8. PCI Device id=7000"
"Unknown PCI device. PCI Vendor id=1. PCI Device id=8178"
"Unknown PCI device. PCI Vendor id=7. PCI Device id=519"
The instalation hangs with the following sentence:
"Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 0b:00"
I'm currently running Win95 on the machine and wating for my educational
priced Windows NT workstation 4.0. As I have to work (and like it) on Linux
on my university, I'm wanting to install it home.
Linux won't install.
Thanks for your time.
Best Regards,
Carlos M. Delgado,
