I may have a solution to my problems. I just opened the case to double
check on some scsi cabling issues...and found that the news server's CPU
fan had quit. I was able to push start it, but it wasn't running fast
enough to be effective. I shutdown, replaced it...and now we'll see what
happens.
I've heard an overheating pentium can do all sorts of interesting tricks.
