This occasions a question that is very timely, as I will be soon picking
up an enet card for a 486/DX266 VL bus with an Adaptec SCSI 2842
controller. I remember from the enet how-to that there have been some
problems with the SMC Ultra and SCSI bus mastering controllers.

Has this been resolved, and with which kernel? I am presently running
1.3.3 as it is stable for me, but with enet would probably drop back to
1.2.11+, given all the recent traffic with enet and 1.3.x.

Thanks much, and pardon if I have missed/not paid attention to a thread
somewhere that addressed this previously.

Michael
