What you need to do is to be running what is, in essence, 3 instances of
the mail program.  One will respond to the external side of the fire wall,
one will respond to the internal side of the fire wall, and the other will
just deliver mail locally between the two. 

That is the simple explination!  Setting it up, well, that is another
game...... !
