I've noticed the same thing for quite some time. The logs indicate that PPP thinks
the modem hung up. My ISP checked their logs, and they see the same thing.
Modems on both ends are error/correcting & auto-retraining, so this shouldn't
happen. I'm not sure who the guilty party is.
