If you have a spare Linux CD or would like to help someone downloading
and installing Linux, please consider adding yourself to the Linux CD
and Support Giveway List at
http://emile.math.ucsb.edu:8000/giveaway.html
The idea is to attract new people to Linux; so please don't request a
free CD from the list if you are already running Linux. I expect
people who got their first Linux CD from the list to redonate it once
their system is installed; in this fashion, the thing could become a
self runner once we have a large enough pool of circulating CD's.
[I already got an offer for 800 free CD's which would otherwise have
been destroyed; this should get the system off the ground.]
Right now, I'm still looking for people willing to give away a CD; I
will then announce the list to a wider audience to attract new users.
Again: if you can't donate a Linux CD, please consider adding yourself
to the list in order to give away installation support. If you don't
have access to the WWW, you can get the list by sending an email like
so:
