Not only will no compiler come with SunOS 5.0, but the unbundled Sun
(excuse me, SunSoft) compilers will enforce their licenses. Typically,
there will be a floating license server and one will be able to check out a
compiler (for a minimum of 30 minutes, or so) for use on a particular
   machine.

Has anyone looked into how robust gcc is for the Sun? I would suspect
that it might be quite good; perhaps even better than the Sun compiler,
given that Cygnus Support has been doing a lot of work on gcc on Sun
equipment.
