SGI 8.0 Issues

We went to early release with the following known problems:
xdsc doesn't work (Because it's using private X11R4
datastructures and SGI is X11R5)
register doesn't work (Never did. jweiss is making it work now.)
xtechinfo, xinfo, xmitdir in unknown state (Who knows their present status?)
xolc can panic the machine
mkserv not yet working (jweiss working on it)
xlogin doesn't add you to any groups.
lottery code in unknown state (is this in the release?)
sis in unknown state (is this in the release?)
The following are things considered required to be fixed before Public:
Craig says most of these are pretty straitforward.
xolc can panic machine
register
mkserv
update procedure needs to remove some old Irix 5.2 files
some special post-update code must run to create devices and reboot
xlogin does not add you to any groups.
4dwm does stupid things with zephyr-grams because it remembers
their locations in the session files if you have any on-screen
when you log out.
elmer must do an unlog (internal security housekeeping)
syslog needs to learn about our loghost and our other syslog conventions.
The following are desirable to fix but not required:
run snmpd from Irix 5.3 instead of from Irix 5.2 (Stupid SGI doesn't
ship required .h files, and we don't have source code yet.)
resolve a few issues in putting athena directories in root's $path
xmkmf configuration might need tweaking
make SGI boxes stop multi-casting their configuration to the subnet.
bring the disk reorganizer fsr back up after carefully limiting it to
non-AFS disk areas.
heisenbug with xlogin sometimes giving users an xdm login window
instead of logging them in.
Finally, we always say that the certain major locker software needs to
be happy for the release. Do we know the state of:
