I just discovered that two people had actually purchased RS6000s
at the MCC and had them Athenized - one is in W91, deployed in
October '94, and the other is in Chemical Engineering, deployed in
March '95. We're not planning a new release for AIX at this
point, and once we've pulled all the RS6000s from the public and
departmental clusters, we won't worry about keeping our third
party software suite up to date. But am I correct in assuming that
the machines will still run as Athena machines up until some AFS
version switch, or something of equal magnitude? What kind of
warning do we need to give these people?
