Gary--the problem is that as far as we can tell, moving to Solaris 2.4
means emacs 19 (or no emacs, but I didn't take that option seriously).
Given that people are already pressing for Solaris 2.4 (some 3rd party
software already is only available for it), we have to figure out how
to get there.
The idea is to make a stable DCNS version available through the
spring, then switch in summer 96. I.e., give people time to change
stuff, then break everything.
