I discussed the possibility of punting yesterday with Alex. While the
patches do fix some of the problems as listed in [2663], we haven't
actually had any user complaints about them. It's possible that
something with more user impact will come up before the end of term, but
leaving things as they are doesn't seem too risky, and of course getting
9.0 out so we can get a head start on testing stuff like this under
Solaris 8 (and AUI) is important.
