The release message about the sshd bug really didn't give any
options to people running 8.3 other than to disable it, as the
instructions mentioned. Nor did it give any hope that an 8.3
release would be available, particularly as it mentioned all
sorts of other platforms that had fixes available.
Someone reading the release message would assume that you
would contact the release team if you had trouble updating
one of the machines, not a complaint about the level of
support given a prior athena release.
