Apologies for the lack of clarity. The intent was to avoid the
resource drain of putting out an 8.3 patch release until I knew there
was a need for it; I had expected that people running servers would
generally be using Kerberized rlogin, not ssh.
Next time something like this comes up, I'll be sure to be more
explicit.
