Given the apparent progress in getting SGI and Transarc to work together
on fixing the problem in a timely manner, as noted in Bill's mail, I'm
going to proceed with the necessary work to build and test kernels with
the workaround disabled for the beta. If anyone disagrees with going
ahead on this, please let me know now; otherwise, I want to make sure
there's time to do the work in order to be ready for beta next week.
