They answered that question preemptively in their initial response to
my TR:
At this time, AFS v3.6 only supports the Silicon Graphics
system wtih one or more processors running IRIX 6.5 or 6.5.4.
Development is currently considering plans to certify or port
AFS to SGI 6.5.6, however, no timeframes are available.
