Assuming we can apply the same or equivalent patches to fix the major
problems we had with 6.5.3 (system hangs, NFS data corruption), I don't
know offhand of any critical bug fixes we would miss out on. Of course,
we won't really know until we try it.
Mostly, the issues would be the time needed to recreate and test the
release and update, and the fact that we would be going with a release
that is already somewhat out of date.
