1. Source locker change - soon, add source will mount /mit/source with
the current source. there will also be source-x.y for various versions.

2. the problems with xterm and mail have been traced to a new caching
demon (nscd). Since it doesn't help in our environment, we're going
to take it out (it is intended to boost NIS performance).

3. workman is reported to be "freezing" workstations. apparently it
is grabbing focus, then dropping into diskwait, and sitting there.
there are other programs which can be used, and the consultants are
looking into fixing it.

4. We had a discussion about doing "mkserv" for webservers,
webdiscuss, cool cgi stuff, oracle, and other "tarballs." Conclusions
I think I heard:

	- jweiss will look into having someone do @small(ops) for SGI
	- wdc/mbarker should look into sizing and getting resources
to support packaged kerberos (v4, maybe v5) for
	  non-athenized systems
	- other groups (CWIS, etc) may do scripts, tarballs, or even
mkserv scripts in their lockers, and we urge them to consider
making it easier on their users by using these services, but
the release team should NOT get tied up in directly
	  supporting such stuff.

5. We're going to expedite 8.1.8 due to the nscd problem.

6. We looked at a draft list of tasks for 8.2 (scheduled for next
summer). They include:
	IRIX 6.2
	Solaris 2.6
	Kerberos 5
	ispell
	latex 2e
	synctree
	perl 5
	changing the default windowmanager
reverting backspace/delete on sun to vendor normal
	removing/cleaning up prelogin options
	libal (login library)
autoconf(iscation) - put more packages under autoconf
	build system changes
bug tracking (procedure, if nothing else)
	zephyr
