Folks,
I often find the Network Computing's Web articles of interest. Below
you'll find two URLs (which lead to others on their site) which deal
with network printing. One URL focuses on a recent study of print
servers, and the other is general material on network printing including
- the challenges of mainframe->LAN printing
- printing costs
- color vs monochrome
- distributed printing
- cross platform printing
- future of enterprise printing
- printer selection methods
The print server study appears to be focused on the kind of service
Athena has provided which is much different from the mainframe's model.
I found the reading useful but not "light".
