What were you trying to do?
Use gnus to read my mail. I believe it uses imtest under the
hood. In any case, I can replicate the error showing up in the
gnus IMAP log using imtest. Based on the information at the
following URL, I think it may be a SASL issue.

(My sole basis for this speculation is the fact that they report
the same error, "SASL(-1): generic failure: Unable to find a
callback: 32775")
What's wrong:
Here is how I reproduce the bug:
$ imtest alex_c.mail.mit.edu
. <snipping a bunch of authentication blah; the full output is at
the bottom of the email>
4 SELECT "INBOX"
<snip>
5 UID SEARCH UNSEEN UNDELETED
<snip, but among other things, it reports the number 148494, which
is used in the following command>
6 UID FETCH 148494 BODY.PEEK[HEADER]
Protection error: decoding error: generic failure; SASL(-1): generic failure: Unable to find a callback: 32775
Connection closed.
What should have happened:
It should have given a report on that message. I should be able
to read my mail using gnus. :-)
