We recently received SilverPlatter's upgrade to the MacSPIRS software
and the July 1992 PsycLIT cd-rom discs. We have been experiencing a
problem which Silver Platter tech support has not been able to help us
with. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem.
The new PsycLIT cd-rom has 2 files on one disc - Journal Articles is one
file and Book Chapters and Books is a second file. To change between
these two files, you have to select Exchange CD-ROM from the File menu.
You also use that menu choice to eject your disc and insert a different
one.
THE PROBLEM: Whenever we go into the Book Chapters and Books file,
after we are finished and select Exchange CD-ROM so that we can eject
the disc or go to the other file, the Mac freezes. We thought we had
the problem solved at one point, but it has recurred - and on more than
one machine. Silver Platter sent us a replacement cd-rom and software
disk, but they had no effect.
We are running this software on a Mac IIci with an Apple CD-SC drive.
I am very interested to hear if anyone else is experiencing this same
problem with the new PsycLIT disc. SilverPlatter sure acted like it was
a new one on them.
