Position Announcement:
Wittenberg University Library: Head of Reference Services.
Wittenberg University seeks an innovative leader to head the
reference services department in providing bibliographic
instruction, reference assistance, department liaison and
collection development, and to supervise interlibrary loan and
branch science library. Staff of 3.5 FTE plus student assistants;
serve as part of library management team; assist in automation
planning and implementation; continue improvements in online
searching and CD-ROM.
Qualifications: MLS from ALA accredited program; at least two
years' supervisory experience in public services; knowledge or
strong interest in reference service and collection development;
proven planning, supervisory, training, and communication skills;
familiarity with online searching, library automation, and
instruction in library use. Science background a plus. We
