A lot of folks cross post and then apologize for it.
Just as a suggestion -- why doesn't every list appoint a
group of cross posters. Each cross poster would read two
lists and would have authority to forward relevant posts.
It would make things simpler for everyone. Joe Smith
would subscribe to PACS-L and MEDLIB-L. When Joe
sees something on one list that would interest folks on the
other, he forwards it to the other. That way anyone
posting something would have reasonable assurance it
would get where it belongs -- with no apology. And the
average user could subscribe to fewer lists with less fear
that he/she was going to miss something really useful.
