Position Title: Laboratory Librarian
Duration: Temporary position through 6/30/93
Salary Range: $33,192 - $36,696 DOE
DUTIES: Responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of
the laboratory; supervise the information systems librarian and
library assistants; prepare and administer budgets. Responsible for
bibliographic organization and control of collections, reference and
advisory services, development and application of specialized
information systems, library administration and management.
Potential for classroom instruction and research where necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 2-3 years managerial experience in a library
or information agency including budget and personnel administration;
master's degree from an ALA accredited program required; from a major
research university preferred. Knowledge of automated
systems/microcomputer applications in libraries required; supervisory
skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
essential; experience working with Library and Information Science
faculty/students in an instructional laboratory environment
desirable. Teaching experience in a university setting a plus.
