A new version of InfoPop (the pop-up guide to the internet, bitnet,
CompuServe, and more) is now ready for ftp delivery to a PC near
you...
This latest release of InfoPop adds mouse support to the non-resident
version of the package (nice for implementing on a LAN) and updates
the InfoPop database as well--giving more information on how one
gets internet access, a few more definitions, and one or two more
interesting destinations. InfoPop supports cut&paste so you can
move a snippet of information from the database to your underlying
application (e.g., your comm program). Saves remembering cryptic
telnet addresses. The utility program (MakeInfo) is also included
in the zip file--enabling you to create other databases for use with
the InfoPop hypertext search engine.
Feel free to use (and help distribute) InfoPop. It's freeware...
To obtain via ftp:
ftp gmuvax2.gmu.edu
username: anonymous
password: PutYourEmailAddressHereInstead
* cd library
* dir [to see what's available]
* bget infpop22.zip
* bye
If bget doesn't work for you, set mode to binary then issue a
get command. You can also download InfoPop from the GMUtant
OnLine BBS (703) 993-2219 v.32/v42bis 24 hours a day.
