Is Internet training needed?
I expected a group of 35-50 to register for my workshop Navigating
the Internet. I was delighted when I got 50 responses in two days,
thrilled when the total hit 100, worried when 175 asked to
register, frantic when over 350 requests came to me, and finally,
determined to allow all who wanted to register to participate. The
reasoning is i shouldn't matter whether it is 1 or 1000, the work
to prepare the workshop should be the same.
To date there are close to 800 persons registered for the workshop.
The group is eclectic--teachers, computer systems managers, Deans,
company sales representatives, programmers, secretaries, students,
professors, school principals and librarians are just a sampling of
who is interested in learning how to use the resource on the
Internet.
It is also International. Registrations came from Canada, Brazil,
Hong Kong, Finland, Israel, Taiwan, Singapore, England,
Czechoslovakia, Australia, Germany, Slovokia, Japan, Netherlands,
Greece, Norway, Switzerland, and Sweden.
Is training using the Internet feasible?
We'll see.
