Crawling out from under the bricks: I don't understand the concept that the
invisible-hand workings of the free-market economy somehow imply that I
should make no comments on just how that economy should work.
More seriously, and I hope briefly: the fact that the Meckler directory of
OPACs will have dial-in numbers is one I didn't know and find useful. In
the context of all the other information available on the net, I don't find
it persuasive; it certainly argues for putting that information into the
online versions.
The comparison with Zen (Kehoe) I don't find relevant as the quick-ref nature
of the OPAC tool is quite different from the discursive presentation of Zen.
Clearly, however, many people find the printed tool useful and it gives them
a feeling of confidence. More power to you.
