Help! -- or -- here's a chance to be interviewed...

A reporter from a major computer weekly has called
ALA, asking to get the library perspective on issues
of indexing as related to increasing amounts of
information being stored electronically, and particularly
electronic imaging information. (This may be a bit garbled,
given the route it's taken.) As you might expect, ALA
itself is not in a great position to field this inquiry.
I've been asked to call the reporter next Monday, when
he will be back in the office.

While I can certainly discuss some of the issues, this
person would be well-served by contacting one or two
knowledgeable *library* people who are dealing directly
with the electronic image storage/indexing/retrieval aspects.
I would love to have a couple of names, affiliations,
and phone numbers to pass on to him.

I plan to call this reporter some time Monday morning,
August 3. If you're a particularly good source in this
area, please let me know *by 8 a.m. Pacific Time on Monday.*

Thanks!
