It is my responsibility to promote AARNET and the Internet to Academic staff of an agriculturally based University. It is pretty scary out there considering that Academics are very sceptical about the whole thing. Currently we are going out to Academics and instructing them in such issues as e-mail, FTP and all that jazz. The bit that worries me is that once they know the how-to's what comes next? I have a pile of lists and things for them to use, but it is a bit of a worry handing over a pile of listservers and e-journals etc. Does anybody out there have another method to assist academics in there search for knowledge? I have considered breaking up each FTP'd file into subject areas for them. This will be a lengthy process. Can someone please help. We have academics lining up for lists. Tattle tap is the only thing that keeps these lists in The Library. I have been able to refer one or two to listservers that will benefit them, but only through coincidence.
